Andrew Weatherall

Andrew James Weatherall (6 April 1963 – 17 February 2020) was a DJ, producer and remixer who played a key role in the UK acid house and indie-dance explosion of the late 1980s and 1990s.

He first emerged through London’s acid house scene and the Boy’s Own collective, gaining recognition for transformative remixes for acts like Happy Mondays, New Order and My Bloody Valentine.

His most celebrated work was producing Primal Scream’s 1991 album Screamadelica, a landmark fusion of rock and house music.

Weatherall later formed The Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen, and founded the label Rotters Golf Club. 
Known for his eclectic taste and underground ethos, he remained active as a DJ and producer until his death in 2020.
